Baker Tilly’s partners and consultants are true believers in following ethical standards and certain rules of conduct to ensure that our performance exceeds that of the clients’ expectations. Our core disciplines are identified in the following:
INTEGRITY Our integrity underpins the development and maintenance of long-term relationships in that Baker Tilly shall perform assigned consulting projects with honesty, diligence, and responsibility. In specific, we will strictly observe the relevant laws and make necessary disclosures as required by the applicable regulations and our profession. We will not knowingly be a party to any illegal activity or engage in acts that are discreditable to the consulting profession or to our clients. We will always aim to respect and further contribute to the legitimate and ethical objectives of our clients.
TRUST Business value and trust are synonymous in the business community. We assist our clients in creating value through building trust in our performance related to the clients’ reputation vital areas. We believe that the value creation, through trust, significantly helps our clients in achieving their growth strategies.
CONFIDENTIALITY We realize that, in the center of our profession, the concept of confidentiality is important for the success of our clients. We respect that fact and have hence established internal policies to ensure that we are prudent in the protection of information acquired in the course of our duties where we shall not disclose such information without the appropriate authority. Furthermore, we shall not use confidential information for personal gain or in any manner that would be contrary to the laws or be detrimental to the legitimate and ethical objectives of our clients.
COLLABORATION We believe that a key-value and benefit of business advisors lies in the recommendation of workable solutions to the challenges that our clients face. We significantly interact and cooperate with our clients’ senior management to avoid offering solutions that are sound in theory but inoperable in practice. We ensure that we understand the problem and the environment before we work out the solution from scratch without dependency on pre-set forms or cut-and-paste methodologies.
QUALITY Our partners, management, and staff include top-skilled and experienced professionals. We require our senior professionals to be holders of at least one professional designation related to a business discipline. Our commitment to quality work begins at the top of the firm and extends to the newly-retained consultants. We ensure that everyone in the firm understands the importance of quality within our professional culture, and we make it clear we expect that each and every member of our team will meet the highest in professional standards.
OBJECTIVITY We realize that the assumption of a fact-based approach ensures that our clients will have confidence in our business recommendations related to the challenges encountered. Specifically, we will not participate in any activity or relationship that may impair or be presumed to impair our unbiased assessment. We will reject any and everything that may impair or be presumed to impair our professional judgment. We will, furthermore, disclose all material facts known to us, which if not disclosed, may distort the reporting of activities under review.
INDEPENDENCE We have devised a strict independence policy to ensure that Baker Tilly stays clear and free from any potential pressure, alternative, or conflicting agendas. The jest of the independence policy requires us to withdraw our professional services and terminate the client relationship if we believe undue pressure is being forced on any of our team members.
COMPETENCY Our partners believe in professional specialization, and for that, Baker Tilly shall only engage in those services for which we have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience. Our performance of services shall be conducted in accordance with applicable consulting practice professional standards. We, furthermore, shall continually improve on our team members’ proficiency to ensure the effectiveness and quality of our specialized services.
